Thread: Getting 11.10 to work on eeePC901

i have been running 10.04 lts on asus eeepc901 netbook time, no particular problems. have made "mistake" of upgrading 11.10. new unity interface has eee901 bit bamboozled: seems run slower, slower. , there several miscellaneous problems. example, when minimize app, gedit, can't find back. did go? there supposed bottom panel minimized apps go? don't find one. , there other issues, because jump unity takes lot of getting used (i content user interface of 10.10; didn't know "needed" better). maybe should go 10.04 lts? possible? ubuntu has been great, i'm pretty frustrated @ present. or words of wisdom appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
