Thread: Multiboot USB with persistence.

i don't know if best place ask this, i'm @ wit's end , helpful linux community around. hoping since i'm trying boot ubuntu on drive, falls under realm of appropriate questions here.

i'll start end sort of tl;dr. aim have bootable usb thumb drive running ubuntu 10.04 persistence. simple enough. however, want multiboot drive hiren's bootcd, ubcd , trinity rescue kit. on top of want able boot installers , recovery menus windows xp pro, vista 32/64 , win 7 32/64. can different combinations of extremely easy without ubuntu persistence, that's bit of deal breaker me.

first thought create persistent ubuntu bootable drive create iso , load onto thumb drive using yumi. didn't work yumi tries load entire iso ram, , persistence ubuntu iso 4gb. drive has work on older pcs.

second thought hand-code grub make work myself. there seems serious lack of resources newbies want learn how use grub. i'm proficient enough linux work way around desktop, install packages , keep small web server running, that's it.

so, there way persistent ubuntu 10.04 bootable usb drive, add own files other isos , edit grub not boot directly ubuntu menu give me options if dual booting ubuntu , windows?

again, sorry if inappropriate place ask question. don't know else turn.

i explain how make persistent multibooter in post 41 of thread.
