Thread: Question: Downgrade Ubuntu 10.04 to LuBuntu

hi people,
i've had numerous troubles trying relatives 6yr old acer aspire 1360 laptop screen function @ 1024 (see thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1784160) in order 'ween' them off winxp.

after 6 months of no joy, think i'll try lubuntu maybe more co-operative. question/s is:

- need un-install ubuntu 10.40 on above (probably obvious, yes).

- lubuntu favour shared integrated sis vga (512meg ram) on ubuntu's unity/ classic or same screen issues arise? (leaves 2 inch black block on right handside of screen.

directional help/advice appeciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
