i positive computer being messed someone. won't go been going on while. when try open /var/log/rkhunter.log after running rkhunter says permission denied. what's that? when scanning in terminal got warning next to:

"checking password file changes"
"checking group file changes"
"checking hidden files , directories"
when run tiger , try open folder /var/log/tiger says:
"the folder contents not displayed not have permission view contents of tiger"

after doing clean install , installing software use. there 1 user, me.

can please give me insight on means , how fix it? also, how go finding hidden user, if there 1 ?

this long shot, have tried open /var/log root priviliges?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
