I am unable to edit my files in illustrator cs6 creative cloud

i can open .ai files , create new .ai files - cannot edit these files. example if click on type tool or rectangle tool , try insert text or rectangle document - hand tool comes instead , nothing happens.

i cannot edit existing text either.

i have had creative cloud several months , worked fine until today.  know can fix this?

check graphics configuration/ driver or tablet driver. have changed there/ installed new drivers...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
