Premiere Elements 11 video editor crashing

hello!

 

we bought premiere elements 11 make short (less 5 min) videos work. program crashing while editing (happening on both computers, i'm thinking it's either how it's been installed or company firewall maybe). run, crashes within 20 minutes of starting , crashes more frequent (within minute of restarting program).

 

any thoughts? it's making painstaking , incredibly frustrating experience me , colleague. we're on government server. plenty of ram, windows xp.

 

any suggestions appreciated. program isn't standard it's not officially supported department, have 1 super helpful person trying figure out, no expertise in program.

usually, pre stable program, there can lot of things (usually in computer, installation, or source footage), cause crashes.

that faq entry starts general pre checklist, goes tuning computer , os, , finishes lot of troubleshooting tips, sort of working in "degree of difficulty." on first part now, , post more info on computers, projects , source footage, before diving troubleshooting. there might quick , easy answer, based on info.
