Thread: Cannot access LXDE, KDE from login

i installed kde-full last night , selected (apparently) wrong display manager. login screen lubuntu (i have lxde installed), , cannot log lxde or kde; login screen asks username(?) , password, blanks second , returns asking username. can log on , lxde, mate, openbox , couple of others, want run xfce or kde login screen directly. i'm running xfce now, started lxde using --replace option, not solution.

google search gave solution, involved command:
sudo cp /usr/share/applications/gnome-appearance-properties.desktop /usr/share/gdm/autostart/loginwindow

problem being gnome-appearance-properties.desktop not present in /user/share/applications...

ideas? i'd linux mint login screen, i'm having...problems.

[solved]
ok, reading else's more severe problem inspired me sudo reconfigure-gdm, allowed me pick different display manager, , i'm in xfce happily.
