Thread: A few questions about Fluxbox, Nautilus, and Conky

hello,

i'm running ubuntu 11.10 fluxbox. found without program drawing desktop, wallch (a wallpaper changer) doesn't work. far program know of draw desktop , work wallch nautilus, startup script has nautilus wallch --constant.

run problem setup when trying run conky. when run conky flashes on desktop second, , covered nautilus. i've tried different settings "own_window_type" in .conkyrc file, , none of them keep above nautilus. wondering if there isn't maybe different program enable wallch work wouldn't cover desktop nautilus (when right click before launching nautilus, fluxbox menu, afterwards normal gnome right click menu), or barring if there's way set conky above nautilus doesn't disappear.

also, there way launch nautilus without opening browser window? i'm using draw desktop, if there more elegant solution cool.

help.

i wouldn't use nautilus wallpaper, kinda un-does lightweight aspect of fluxbox - you're half way running gnome @ point.

ps, feh won't draw wallpaper on conky

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
