Thread: Win 7 / Ubuntu 10.04 Grub Rescue

hi,

have dual boot computer.
4 hard drives.
hard drive "a" has windows 7 ultimate 64 bits on it.
hard drive "b" has ubuntu 10.04.3 lts on it.
95% of time use ubuntu, once in while go win7.
when restart computer go ubuntu, i'm greeted "grub>rescue" message.
happens quite must say.
there way prevent that?
i'm tired of re-installing ubuntu every 2 months...
know can pop in live cd re-install grub, beyond knowledge & couldn't find tutorial me.
why grub keeps deleting every time go in windows?

thank you!

why don't try running virtual machine in ubuntu, instead of dual booting?
