Cut and paste text is messed up in CS6

i working in aics6 today , when copied or cut selected text 1 point text object text object, text on page pasted @ text insertion point instead of word cut. if did simple "paste" command, single word added page point text element. in world going on? popped cs5 , tried same thing , works expected.

 

i sure hope i'm not 1 experience this. want cs6, record dismal new version.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
