Photoshop: Printing: via Mac from printer on Windows 7

hi all,

 

first off - if know better place should posting question, please inform.

 

i'm trying print photoshop onto printer connected via windows computer. i've tried , @ point of paying 40 bucks set me. pain since have interrupt person working @ windows computer send order print.

 

printer: epson stylus pro 9600 ultrachrome ink

connected to: windows 7 computer

shared to: imac 10.8.3

 

  • set windows workgroup
  • made sure workgroup same name in mac
  • set shared settings in windows , allowed make changes
  • set printer sharing settings , allow print/manage.
  • tried connecting printer mac finder: go > connect server > smb://[ip address] , smb://[user@computer]/users
  • tried connecting printer print & scan section of system preferences: + > windows > workgroup > jim-pc (computer name). asks me name , password @ point. no name , password combination works. tried "guest" "guest" , seemed work until tried printing. instead of completing print job states "waiting authorization". tried authorizing "guest" "guest" print disappears queue.
  • tried connecting print & scan: + > advanced > type: lpd/lpr host of printer, device: device, url: "ipd://[ip address]. left name ip address. tried generic postscript printer - didn't work. tried epson s9600 drive (updated it)- didn't work. tried generic pcl printer , printed test page! left printer running thinking, though. when went print photoshop no longer worked , couldn't print test page. tried same thing changing name no avail.

 

i'm @ loss. i've gone on of options i've found on other forums. spent 6+ hours (yep) trying figure out on weekend. if has ideas, helpful links and/or step-by-step guides grateful. if need more information or you're part of site crossloops , want $40... think i'm @ point now!

you need print server software on windows machine. there no way print directly via windows share mac.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
