Split path and Join with another

hi all

 

i need here - have cycling jersey designing. following, not know how:

with smart guides on, may:

 

1) zoom way in  on intended left side split/join , click @ corner scissors tool;

2) zoom way in  on intended rightt side split/join , click @ corner scissors tool;

3) hide lower path (you can find in layer palette, may need direct select it);

4) scissors tool click @ end anchor point of upper part of split path (it extends past lower path join with);

5) deselect upper path , direct selection tool click end points of both paths join , ctrl/cmd+j;

6) select whole path in layers palette (click circle right) , ctrl/cmd+j.

 

do likewise other paths join.

 

this works regardless of version.

 

you may hide other paths during , show them again afterwards if needed/convenient.
