Thread: Acer one 522 - freeze

hi,

last weekend bought acer 1 ao522, believe full name, , came windows 7 starter. when couldn't change wallpaper put me on edge. went ahead , without doing research installed backtrack 5. worked day or started freezing randomly. , whole time working struggling headphones work. anyway decided rather being cool backtrack maybe ubuntu solve of problems.

sooo, did quick usb install of 11.10 , right after install worked great, no problems. next day turned on froze few seconds after getting desktop. reset few more times similar results. wouldn't make desktop. soo, tried installing netbook version 10.whatever, had sorts of problems! including freezing after startup. decided go regular 11.10. on first install try froze, on second whatever reason worked.

remembered first time let me use computer computer without problems appeared after full power down , problems started. knew needed while still work in system. went these forums , seemed network card might causing of problems. idea, decided disable network card within os. after doing reset machine , know, worked perfectly. clicked enable card again , froze right away. reset it, still froze within second. know has network card...

had read on forums here had said did boot order , somehow caused not freeze. went bios , enabled network boot , set network boot top. boom! fixed! , headphones work!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
