ok, here go, not new @ might think, on ubuntu 11.04 , having issues. first issue unable gain access web. firefox not working, connected network via wireless. second issu unable bring libre writer up,, can see calc , impress. there multitude of other apps cannot enter use. distro flop or can there fix out there ???

open suggestions , answers issues. please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
is frsh install or has broken? did uprade via dist-upgrade? there have been quite few errors dist upgrading 10.x 11.x

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
