Thread: Help - Cannot see xp share
i set workgroup in xp, clicking on says it's not accessible. shared 1 folder.
network magic somehow fixed xp: can see both ubuntu , xp shares.
i'd work on making sure ubuntu able see (it can see own share). problem remains on ubuntu's side. after disabling ufw, able enter windows network see both computers (prior said "unable mount location: failed retrieve share list server"), upon clicking on xp, says same thing.
once fixed, i'd reenable ufw, need explanation of needed allowed rules: in or out, , why.
after changed
wins support = no
to
wins support = yes
in smb.conf, started displaying message "opening ...", in end displays same error.
pinging xp hostname works.
did run through troubleshooting section of community documentation?
