Thread: Installation of Ubuntu 11.10 halts with HP Z400

i installing ubuntu 11.10 on hp z400 desktop, replace reinstalled windows. installation starts , prints log messages on screen halts @ point: '4.425137 generic/usb 9993:046d:c077.0002: input,hidraw1: usb hid v1.11 mouse [logitech usb optical mouse] on usb-0000:001d.2-2/input0'. cursos blinks installation never seems proceed beyond point. ctrl-alt-del restarts machine. tried 11.04 , 32-bit version got same problem.

tips on how forward?

if u r installing windows present, first run wubi in windows automatically reboots select ur boot device ur ubuntu dvd . shud solve ur problem.
select option "install ubuntu along side windows" n give ubuntu atleast 50gb space. let me know if solved ur problem

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
