Thread: question about installing OS to flash drive

i know major newb question, don't know answer, i've done windows, not linux. have windows 8 developers preview, want install pen flash drive. when right click on .iso in downloads folder , select open archive mounter, nothing happens, @ least nothing shows on screen.

want mount image, install flash drive. found xcopy should trick, found saying xcopy won't copy boot sector files necessary boot of drive:

hate newb , act though haven't googled this, can me this? i'm unsure of procedure.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
