Thread: Rescue mode, now what?

i'm having boot problems. i've been using ubuntu while, first time i've had boot problems have shell prompt, i'm not sure need analyze need next.

part of problem when use command line ('dmesg' or 'ls -al', example) output goes fast , haven't figured out how pause it...

pointers on should next?

have tried 'startx'? message get. don't mention release using.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
