Thread: VMWare Player Deleted My Network

i installed vmware player play it.

until pc crashed going suspend mode.
when rebooted, network disabled.

when typed
ip addr
there no eth0 adapters there, there vmnet1 , vmnet8

later solved problem going network connections in ubuntu system menu, adding wired connection, , enabling network on system panel.

when fixed it, did do? if give me few sentences explain it, please. did delete network adapter?

i'm trying become linux expert, short explanation might set me in right direction start reading.


tl;dr:
had fix adding wired connection. why did fix it?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
