reminds of redhat's decision move "hidden" linux patches. in order create "start of art" competitive products, company needs revenue. if other companies taking ones products , repackaging them, that's going crimp ones revenue stream.

see it, open source business model (or license) akin walking alaskan summer without deet. you're going walk out of wilderness 50 pounds lighter, , won't loss of fat. reason ubuntu , canonical because of shuttleworth's incredible revenue infusion. wonder though ,at point, whether ubuntu/canonical's success, if , when comes, force rethink it's open source philosophy - , perhaps modify it.

if want make money, that's fine. so. and, yes, open source not best way that.
