Thread: Which version of javac ?

my version of java is:

code:
java version "1.6.0_23" openjdk runtime environment (icedtea6 1.11pre) (6b23~pre11-0ubuntu1.11.10) openjdk 64-bit server vm (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode)
if install openjdk-7-jdk compatible java version or should install openjdk-6-jdk ?

i sure older versions of jre not compatible newer versions of jdk, recommend 1.6.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
