faq: how can invite others use grouppix?

 

answer:

grouppix has 2 methods adding others: 'email invite' , 'scan pass'

 

email

  • email invitations work great before event, because allow others install app , join group album ahead of time. there 2 ways invite via email. first, need go group album created tapping icon main screen ('grouppix party' example shown below):

  • then 1 of following:

1. tap 'add friends' button in lower right corner, tap 'invite email'

2. alternatively, can tap settings icon in upper-right hand side bring settings album, tap 'email invite':

    • enter email address of person want invite, tap blue invite button in upper-right corner of screen.
      • if friend not have grouppix installed, email contains link install app app store
      • if friend have grouppix installed, email has link launch app, or friend can launch grouppix without email, , accept invitation directly in program.

 

scan pass

you can use scan pass feature add event on spot. (as group album host) , person invite, each follows these directions, respectively:

  • (you) go group album, , tap settings icon in upper-right hand side bring settings album, tap 'scan pass' switch grouppix scan mode:

  • (them) after installing app app store, launch app, tap 'join' show grouppix pass:

  • (you) scan other person's pass, focusing on square black , white code on pass (circled in red above); once scanned, other person automatically added group album, , photo taking can begin!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
