Spacing in table of contents

is there way adjust, increase, minimum amount of spacing between table of contents entry , it's page number single line paragraphs? know can insert non-breaking spaces in long paragraphs, if paragraph fits on 1 line, doesn't help.

the screen grab below shows entry on first line close page number. second line way want look, have forced return set up. of couse, when re-generate table of contents forced return disappears, i'm hoping there technique.

if editing frame.ini file control spacing, how woiuld implemented?

i'm cross-posting in scripting forum in case there way script it.

 

if can tell me if not possible, i'd appreciate (so know not keep trying think of workarounds).

the method use not obvious works because of way framemaker seems work.

 

for each paragraph format used in toc, ones ending in toc, open paragraph designer. 1 of tabs (cannot remember one) has place specify spacing adjustments. there 3 boxes: minimum, optimum, , maximum. typically, minimum set 75%, optimum 100%, , maximum 125%. add 100, or 200, or 300% minimum , maximum, not optimum, remains @ 100%. example, minimum 175%, optimum 100%, , maximum 225%. click update all. in template file, , import paragraph formats files in book. update book.

 

i think framemaker tries adjust spacing using minimum , maximum, determines break line, , sets spacing optimum 100%. result line break short space before end of line. can experiment. more add minimum , maximum, longer space between line break , end of line.
