Thread: Failed to load module "nv" (why is my comp SO SLOW?)

i running 11.10 gnome 3 shell on gateway fx laptop nvidia geforce 9800m gts graphics card.

computer has gotten slower when running extremely fragmented vista itunes open. ridiculous.

according network settings, wireless connection running around 100 mb/s, , yet took computer twenty minutes download 1 measely mp3 file amazon. in system monitor under resources tab, network history graph has comp receiving 0-50 kib/s. bytes, singular.

computer 1 in house doing this, know isn't wifi crapping out on me.

switching fallback gnome classic didn't anything.

while fiddling around, opened x diagnostic settings, clicked "display error messages", , met gem:

failed load module "nv" (module not exist, 0)

given these "workaround" options, caveat no matter how many times checked box next them , pressed "apply", unchecked next time opened application:

disable vesa framebuffer driver
disable pat memory

- of connected how freakishly slow computer has gotten?

i'm going nuts

thankyou in advance can give me

used wrong prefix thread - should ubuntu instead of lubuntu - don't know how change / can't figure out because computer running when click on "thread tools" ... nothing ... happens. took on minute load reply thread page.
