i running hp pavilion dv6tqe laptop ubuntu 11.10 / windows 7 dual-boot. ever since i've installed ubuntu, i've noticed there loud quick clicking noise coming laptop. noise stops when fan kicks on noticeable setting, leading me believe cause may ubuntu running fan motor @ speed slow motor handle properly. i'm hoping come across simple software fix can put problem aside. in advance.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
