Thread: The "unknown" monitor and then some

i literally found out ubuntu today, installed, few hours ago, , have been doing nothing trying set since. it's installed on asus g60vx notebook, nvidia gtx 260m graphics card. while fixing audio problem, popped asking me install driver graphics card. installed without thinking of , restarted computer after audio fixed. after restarted it, vizio tv have hooked external monitor no longer recognized computer, , i've got "unknown" monitor ordeal going on. i've been looking everywhere fix on here, , tried few, nothing has fixed it. if help, it'd appreciated, may have dumbed down quite bit. haha. if need give more information, let me know

after installing restricted nvidia drivers, open terminal , give
code:
gksu nvidia-settings
try fix things there - don't forget save changes x configuration file after you're done.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
