Thread: new distros booting to busybox (intiramfs)

hello have seen several post similar problems don't seem fix installation problem. whenever try install ubuntu 11.10 / mint12 / or of new releases start install drop out busybox initramfs prompt. have seen few post changing bios setting none seem work. if try install 10.04 or older seems install fine. 1 person suggested try newer releases old kernel not exact sure how that. appreciated.

p.s iam installing live usb , have tried redownloading them several times same problem.

i assume verified checksum of downloaded iso files. since have problem not ubuntu, should post hardware specification. may worth trying 10.04 , see if installs. since lts release, supported until 2013.
