Thread: System hang caused by kmail

i've been fiddling kmail folder structure in order recover old messages. @ 1 point decided quit kmail , restart it. system ground halt. desktop environment froze, tried logging out. got stuck, tried going virtual terminal. shortly after that, login screen came on own , system wedged; capslock wasn't working , powering down me out.

perhaps made mistakes kmail manipulations, seems overreaction!! looked in system log , discovered time of crash, getting these repeated messages:

code:
jan 10 19:53:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activating service name='org.freedesktop.packagekit' (using servicehelper) jan 10 19:53:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activated service 'org.freedesktop.packagekit' jan 10 19:59:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activating service name='org.freedesktop.packagekit' (using servicehelper) jan 10 19:59:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activated service 'org.freedesktop.packagekit' jan 10 20:05:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activating service name='org.freedesktop.packagekit' (using servicehelper) jan 10 20:05:46 pwa-k60ij dbus[994]: [system] activated service 'org.freedesktop.packagekit' ja
there's surely kind of bug here, don't know how collect enough useful information enable guess might be. don't know how or report it.
