Thread: Taskbar window thumbnails are missing

for whatever reason window thumbnails in taskbar don't show anymore. tooltip name , icon of running application. no window thumbnail. have kubuntu 11.10 icon-only task manager installed. taskbar thumbnails in desktop effects settings enable, no thumbnails showing :-/

do mean window thumbnails on desktop panel? or on icon-only task manager?

windows on desktop panel- should have taskbar thumbnails enabled in desktop effects- said have.
, if meant icon-only task manager (this widget way)....you need configure settings widget (rightclick on desktop- unlock widgets- hover on icon-only tm- click on settings icon (looks wrench); , under appearance should have 'tooltips' enabled.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
