Thread: Ubuntu a joke?

i trying use ubuntu first time on hp nw8000 serial port, , serial microsoft 2-button mouse.
installed ok, , upgraded 11.10 version.

reason try microsoft have made stupid mistakes take away , change around lots of features , user interfaces, both windows 7 , office 2007/2010. mean, company flagrantly spits in face of long-term faithful customers not deserve them longer. if forced re-learn things, alternative package ubuntu might tried.

ubuntu seem install fine , work, except serial mouse, , have looked few hints , tried understand how apply them. no success.

using serial mouse not seem rocket science, , wonder how ubuntu society can imagine being taken seriousy when such simple , elementary things fail work newcomers?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
