Thread: What kind of fingerprint reader to get for LTS version?

i external fingerprint reader leo1 desktop (leopard extreme, 1st gen - got last year). although ubuntu 11.10 works great on serval pro (serp6), i'd keep desktop on lts (long-term-support) versions only.

since external fingerprint readers aren't dime dozen, , since installation on latest lts (10.04) not entirely trivial, hoping advice on fingerprint hardware , software this.

in advance.

any fingerprint reader supported fingerprint-gui project should fine. list available on page: http://www.n-view.net/appliance/fingerprint/

however, if can hold out until 12.04, we're working on getting better fingerprint support integrated ubuntu itself, , setup breeze.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
