Windows Media Player cannot play the file after ame encode with out audio?

strange behavior using media encoder today

ive selected no audio when encoding h264 android...every time (5x) tried encode got "windows media player cannot play file" when selected audio error went away..
the other issue had work area , encodes including whole sequence not "work area only" when selected?
buggy day ..love edit ..

the export without audio .m4v file, many plays have trouble with.  now, use audio, creates playable .mp4 file.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
