Adobe exchange wants updated version of Extension Mgr

adobe exchange keeps giving me message each time try install extension:
"you must install newer version of adobe extension manager install item. once upgrade complete, can install item 'my stuff' tab"
i have uninstalled , reinstalled several times now. have no updates install, keep getting message. products appear in extension manager panel (flash, illustrator, indesign, photoshop)
i have:
cs6 (fully updated)
mac
adobe extention manager cs6 v. 6.0.5.9

adobe exchange v. 0.9.4

 

i'm frustrated , appreciate this.

here solution worked me (for mac). extension of previous suggestion.

 

after many many hours of frustration , trying figure out, followed these steps in post. whatever reason, tried entire process 4 times , took! so, if suffereing same frustration, did, follow these steps. sure previous extension/echange downloads deleted first...and duplicates. if still doesnt work, again:

  1. in applications folder locate extension manager cs6 folder , open.
  2. trash adobe extension manager cs6.
  3. download fresh copy of adobe extension manager cs6 fromhttp://download.macromedia.com/pub/dw_exchange/extension_manager/mac/a dobeextensionmanager6.0all.dmg
  4. install extension manager
  5. download 6.0.2 update http://download.macromedia.com/pub/dw_exchange/extension_manager/mac/a dobeextensionmanager-6.0.2-mul-adobeupdate.dmg
  6. install update
  7. open adobe application manager (via adobe program "update..." in "help" pull-down.
  8. check updates , 6.0.4 should available. install.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
