CS6 Background Flashing

backgound keeps flashing , pixelating whenever use cs6 (brand new copy of cs6 , brand new sony laptop using windows 8). annoying! please tell me how prevent before go insane.

does turning off »use graphics processor« in performance preferences , restarting photoshop have bearing on issue?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
