PC vs Mac Serial # issue

i have copy of elements 8 installed on pc.  purchased new imac.  apparently serial number , software elements 8 pc.  there way new software/serial # install on mac, or can existing serial # fixed work on mac.  fine having give install on pc if have to.

you have buy pse mac. adobe give crossgrade, thing pse since have pay upgrade fee (because adobe sends latest version), save money watching big box stores in area , places amazon deals on full boxed version, cheaper adobe's upgrade price. also, if want move catalog mac, need upgrade pse in windows (the mac version can't read catalog windows version older pse 9). if buy boxed version discs both platforms , serial number works on either, can install pse in windows, upgrade catalog , backup, restore mac , deactivate in windows if don't need there, free activation up.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
