was wondering 1 best out of 3 , worth installing on ubuntu 11.10??

plexydesk seems large , slow , still immature. there aren't many widgets or installing them not straightforward. works, yet hardly satisfies real users.

can run plasmoids on ubuntu main edition, makes kde context menu pop desktop , causes other irregularities demands resource system. if okay that, there lot of plasmoids , easy install. imho best widget framework linux systems.

screenlets widget framework developed , guaranteed work on ubuntu 11.10. if install latest 0.1.6 screenlets dev ppa (ppa:screenlets-dev/ppa), should work fine in both unity , gnome shell. problem screenlets not many new screenlets created nowadays , of older ones have stopped working. easy install ppa using ubuntu software center (see http://www.screenlets.org/index.php/get_more_screenlets) , there's basic pack of them distributed framework, should work right. rest of 100 screenlets in ppa of variable quality, of them work.

may want consider google gadgets, may not work unity , there's no official package since 11.04. if older ubuntu versions not work, can try if latest versions in debian repositories work you.

, there project called gdesklets, doesn't have installation package 11.10, able install once. has smaller memory print plexydesk, quite immature. though general usability , cooperation desktop not in screenlets, gdesklets usable in ubuntu.
