Thread: Problem compiling, missing combressbound and compress

i'm trying compile test program downloaded hardware supplier interface signature capture pad. go test program directory , run make , i'm getting undefined references compressbound , compress. getting undefined references pthread discovered if replace -lpthread -pthread on flag line of makefile past this. i'm trying compile on normal ubuntu 11.10 desktop system has not been modified. did try add zlib related figuring missing lib file using sudo apt-get install zlib* , got bunch of stuff installed still same error when compile.

ideas i'm missing???

please paste output of make.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
