Thread: Trying to get access to hard drive with Ubuntu

hello!

today computer wouldn't boot windows xp, booted ubuntu usb try access hard drive , retrieve files way. unfortunately total ubuntu noob , haven't been able yet.

have tried gparted , able find hard drive, through home folder:

when click on or right click > mount, nothing happens minute , show up:

i've tried use terminal guides found online too, no luck far...

ideas? appreciate

you need run chkdsk on drive (from windows, or windows recovery console) before can mount it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
