Problems reading PDF files with i Pad and Mac with 10.8.3 Mountain Lion OS

i assume indesign uses acrobat xi resources generate exported pdfs.

 

i have many 1-7 page articles created pdfs via export function in id. read ok on pc/apple/linux based computers.

 

i assembled of articles 1 50 page document in id , again exported large file pdf.

 

several of articles inside large document exhibit problems when viewed on pad or mac running os 10.8.3 (mountain lion). pc , linux not have problem.

 

the problems are, quote subscriber: "each paragraph starts 'dollar' sign instead of 'th'. later 'dollar' symbol changes ' " '. same thing happens in piston ring article. doesn't happen on original pdf files.

 

opening files in acrobat pro xi differences not discover although assume problem somewhere in font files.

 

any suggestions?

no, indesign not use acrobat in way export pdfs.

 

try establish softwre being used view pdf. in both cases quote default viewer uses apple, not adobe, technology.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
