Thread: Bad resolution

hello, installed ubuntu on new rig. chose ubuntu because on live disk, had resolution needed monitor - 1920x1200. tried arch , windows beforehand couldnt more 1440x900 on arch , badly stretched 1 windows. installed , started setting up. installed nvidia driver using new nvidia card (geforce gt 430) , need 3d acceleration, pose nouveau has bad 3d acceleration. anyway, once had installed nvidia driver , rebooted, no longer had option chose 1920x1200, highest 1440x900, arch. intend stick ubuntu because 1 of few people likes new unity desktop, please me out? :/ thanks.

by way, changing res on nvidia settings jut gives me black screen mouse, reverts 1440x900 :/

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
