Thread: finding recently installed apps in ubuntu 11.10


hello,

i'm trying install sage computing software from:http://boxen.math.washington.edu/sag...bit/index.html

followed (one of many different) installation instructions:

2. extract tarball:

tar -xvf sage-*.tar

3. cd sage directory , type make:

cd sage-*/
make
"

can't find program. had same problem when installed chromium browser- somehow accidentally found it. there way find apps in unity interface?

if have synaptic package manager installed can find out if package installed . use following command find folder location .

whereis program name
the program @ posted link ubuntu 10.04 compatible , work on 11.10 / gnome 3 or have newer package installed ?
