Thread: importing DVD+RW stock to Ubuntu (as a file).


hi everybody,

i'm trying figure out how best convert old vhs tapes. latest cunning plan follows.

copied couple on dvd+rw. intention - firstly - import ubuntu, in file form, material recorded on dvd+rw. , secondly: file should introduced pitivi(v0.13.4), in order opened and, @ later stage, edited.

excellent instruction video, downloaded youtube, has given me pretty idea on how achieve latter. have absolutely no clue steps take respect introducing stuff recorded on dvd+rw system (ubuntu 10.04) and, subsequently, best way of turning material recorded file pitivi able read.

it's latter issue i'd have explained me. step step, if please; , in plain english - since i'm new ubuntu , still trying grips it.

you try installing application handbrake should able rip dvds mp4 h264.
there lot of youtube clips explain how achieve handbrake if have trouble it.
(i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aadiu_3fgrg )

if recorder dvd+rw dvd-recorder (i mean ones plug in tvs) might need fixiate dvd+rw first before can read computer. (consult dvd-recorder manual details on how this)
