Thread: No sound after install 11.10 (card VT8237A)

hi,

i've made new install of xubuntu 11.10 in old pc. seems work fine, i've got no sound. when type aplay -l in terminal system indicates there no soundcards installed. using lspci realized actual audiocard installed vt8237a/vt8251. tried reinstalling alsa-base , alsa-utils, nothing happened. tried compiling alsa-drivers scratch, wasn't successful.

know how sound working? appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
