Thread: Odd issue with microphone and sound

i running xubuntu 11.10 , finding quite odd issue sound settings.

have external speaker , mic embedded usb webcam. mic not work (just) hearing friend on gtalk, found out hear music playing in computer.

so, hear sound output, not voice! output signal routed directly microphone.

idea of going on in system?

use alsa-info-script provide detailed information.
run command in terminal:

wget http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh -o alsa-info.sh && bash alsa-info.sh
choose upload option , provide link output.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
