Thread: Openbox: close application via menu

greetings.

realize openbox isn't true desktop environment didn't see window manager category , thought might relevant forum. started using openbox , enjoy it's simplicity. i'm able utilize favourite applications via alt-tab (don't want panel), terminal or modifying openbox config files.

sorry if has been solved couldn't find answer via openbox's documentation or online forums.

possible close open applications directly centre mouse-click menu without having select application/change focus , click close application via window manager's 'x'/close button?

regularly use 'exit' in terminal, alt-f4 applications or right-click & 'c' in application window there times when want close application without clicks/keystrokes - centre mouse-click open applications menu, scroll the application wish close press 'delete' or 'backspace' or right mouse-click or similar.

help.

that sounds doable. have bind ctrl+q close things (useful programs ignore bind anyway).

in ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml, find section begins:
code:
<context name="titlebar"> ...
you see number of mouse binds there. suspect adding following mouse bind section should achieve want.

code:
<mousebind button="middle" action="click"> <action name="close"/> </mousebind>
i should note unable test @ moment see no reason why not work.
