Thread: Problem performing updates

8 days ago system not capable of performing updates. output get:

sudo apt-get update  ign http://softlibre.unizar.es oneiric inrelease  ign http://dl.google.com stable inrelease   ....  w: error occurred during signature verification. repository not updated , previous index files used. gpg error: http://extras.ubuntu.com oneiric release: following signatures couldn't verified because public key not available: no_pubkey 16126d3a3e5c1192    w: gpg error: http://archive.canonical.com oneiric release: following signatures invalid: badsig 40976eaf437d05b5 ubuntu archive automatic signing key <ftpmaster@ubuntu.com>  w: failed fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/release      w: index files failed download. have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

have attempted fix removing trusted software provider authentications update manager, , pressing 'restore defaults'. doesn't work.

i'm using ubuntu 11.10

ah, gpg key issues. no worries, it's fixable. install y ppa manager , use fix key issue.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/y-ppa-manager  sudo apt-get update  sudo apt-get install y-ppa-manager

choose 'advanced settings' , choose 'fix keys'.

run script or terminal command same thing (google gpg key issue). having y ppa manager pretty useful more problem, it's worth install.
