Thread: sharing folder and content between users on same computer

i new user of ubuntu 11.10 , on past couple of weeks have been researching , trying set , share folder other users on same computer. have tried setting shared folder, setting user groups each user set able access of folders , files not single folder , file content. want able share 1 single folder movies users. new user , looking step step process on how set up. thank in advance assistance.

i suggest create new group , add relevant users new group. change permissions. open terminal , run following command.

chown -vr user:newgrp /home/user/.../share_dir

where user name, newgrp name of new group created , share_dir name of directory wish share.
