Illustrator and InDesign not responding

illustrator , indesign keep shutting down or not responding. using large files(im designing wallpaper final piece, on photoshop, try , transfer parts illustartor put , line @ edges etc) dont know whether thats problem, ive tried shrinking them down dont want shink them incase pixelated when print them out

nobody can tell without system info , exact details documents. such crashes have nothing teh programs themselves, rather specific things being used in files fonts, color profiles , on...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
