LR 4.4 Don't Understand Stacking

i come aperture. expectation when change photo, new version created, , ought able see originals , edited versions if choose. have no idea how that. expand stacks seems nothing. thanks!

your expectation wrong lr. in lr when change (edit / develop) photo no new version created. lr edits parametric, i.e. no pixels ever changed lr. rather edits stored set of data in catalog (= database).
but have option create different versions of one-and-the-same photo creating virtual copies (vcs). vcs not real copies - can't find them on hard drive - alternate set of date in catalog, , lr displays if seperate photo.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
