master page buttons shifting horizontally when navigating thru site

i'm having problems master page buttons shifting horizontally when navigating specific page. i've rebuilt scratch twice (even taking text plain text) , still same thing . . . 1 page only: bio

 

the lateral shift of right hand column navigation buttons quite noticeable when going or leaving bio page:

hi,

 

the slight shift seeing because content in bio page goes down beyond browser screen height, causing scrollbar appear on right. since scrollbar takes away space screen on right, site content shifted left maintain center alignment.

 

i hope clarifies cause here.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
